I bought a 2000 xc wagon, less than 250 miles after I bought it the bevel gear blew. I was in a lawsuit with the dealership but am tired of waiting and need to recoop some funds asap. I am considering just selling the POS so I can just be done!!
My question is how much can I sell it for? 2000 xc 108k miles on it. Great condition inside and out, new tires, new timing belt, blown bevel gear.
Do I part it out? Do I sell it full disclosure? How much would I ask for something like that?

Sell if for what it's worth minus the cost of repairs. The Bevel Gear Assembly for your year runs roughly $250 on ebay so a wrecking yard might be something to look at as far as getting the part goes. Any competent mechanic could do this job, looks like removing the passenger wheel and driveshaft plus the actual bevel gear is needed to do the swap.

 

Where in the PNW are you? Plenty of parts cars around here to either help get the XC back to AWD or converted to just front-wheel drive. Might just be interested in the car myself.
