just inherited a 98 v70 r wagon...love it! ...is there a manual transmission that bolts up? while keeping the AWD ?

Whats the point of converting if they made some in manual? Especially in AWD your going to be in super deep to even try and change a trans in the AWD, let alone convert. I apologize if that came off kind of rude. But it's not worth it even if you had the money and the know how, with all the tools.

 

What's not worth it? In MY opinion, my manual-swapped wagon is more fun to drive than my wife's sloppy-box sedan, which would make the swap worthwhile to me. Volvo sold AWD 5-spd's in Canada, the M58 box is what you'd be looking for. There's no real special tools involved in pulling a transmission, though an engine support bar certainly makes it much easier.
