Default Servo Change

AHRRRRR

I have a lovely Volvo V70 2.4 Auto estate however the servos started to hiss when applying the foot brake. I managed to get a replacement and I eventually got it all undone only to find that there was no room to remove the servo from the engine compartment. So its stuck and cannot be removed. I have two options Compress the push rod inwards and try again or scrap it which I do not want to do as its a bloody lovely car.

I have been told that I might have to drop or lower the front sub frame to I have more room for removal. Its sound bloody frightening and complex.

Any ideas please

I'm trying to remember the layout on those models. If I recall, there is an ABS unit in the way that has to be removed. From there I'd have to see if there was enough room to move the unit before it becomes tight against the back of the engine.

Lowering the subframe is not that bad of a job. You just have to have a helper and use good jack stands.
