Default sluggishness, stalling, brakes and steering firming during

Bought a v70xc about a month ago. No problem until a few days ago when it started getting sluggish, the steering became harder, and the brakes started firming up, and then suddently died over the course of a mile. I thought it was the battery and the cold, but it was charged recently and repeated the same problem at an outside temp of 70F later in the day. Dashlights didn't go off, nor did any of the interior features like heat/ac or radio.

Alternator test at an auto shop said it was good, and the battery had 1/4 of its life left and a full charge. They said it might be the distributor, which I replaced both the rotor and cap. I then replaced the spark plugs. I did not, however, change the wires from the sparkplugs to the distributor cap. They also did a code scan and it popped up that cylinder 2 was misfiring.

Im borrowing a code scanner from a friend next week and update any relevant codes that pop up. I'll also try replacing the wires next week when I get paid. In the meantime, do any of you have any idea what could be the problem? I need this car fixed ASAP as my job requires me to travel at a moment's notice.
