Default V70 a few issues need help

Just picked our V70 from sydney on friday to drive home to melb.
The engine check light is on, we had it scanned and the code came up for oxygen sensor, can they be cleaned, how much are they and where can I get one for a good price, I am unsure what to do ?.

Driving south from sydney we thought we should check the aic conditioner, it was 20 degree,s and it worked well , by 5 oclock we needed the heater and guess what no hot air, we stayed over in Gundigai, we checked all fuses, fuses where good, so I need some help as to what the problem might be oh and by the way the next morning we left at 6 am. it was minus 1 and did,nt get above 2 till after 8 oclock.

It,s a 99 model non turbo and we love what a great highway car.
Thank,s AL.

I assume that you have coolant in the motor? If so, you need to check to make sure that your heater hoses are going through the firewall and are not bypassed. Sometimes owners bypass the heater core if it's leaking. Past that, I wouldn't know where to go next other than check for codes.

Most say that you should only use OEM O2 sensors. I've heard that they cost about $250 here, so I usually get used ones from junk cars here. They are normally $25. Sometimes they are newish so they work well. If you'd like, I can send you one if you pay the cost of the part and for shipping.

Ok there has been some development, on closer inspection the heater core has been bypassed, so my guess is the heater core is shagged, I can get a second one from a wrecker for $165 but just what is involved in swapping them ?. Dash out dash in, special tools I have no idea, does anybody out there want to do it for me I pay cash.

Thanks Allan

Since you're not getting any real answers to your problem, go to www.matthewsvolvosite.com and you will get some.
Great DYI site.
The owner's an a-hole but the people there are good and you should get some good response

The heater core is not hard to replace. www.iPdUSA.com has a video that shows you how it's done. Go to their site, search their parts and you'll likely see a link to the video.

I can get you a used core for a LOT less than that if you don't mind waiting for the shipping. It usually takes about 4 days to get there from here. Shipping would be around $35 and the part maybe $25. Let me know if you need help.

RSPI, what a helpfull bloke you are, thank you very much for offering to help, my volvo is a v70 non turbo, build date 03/1999, the parts I require are , o2 sensor, heater core, better include pipes from core to fire wall and fire wall to motor and a passenger side ( your driver side) seat belt front, must be in good condition and pass registration inspection and be black.
If you could let me know how much inc. postage to postcode 3134 Australia and how I can pay you , that would be great.

thanks Allan email alanddeb@aanet.com.au
