2001 P2 V70 Heater Core install
I've done a ton of searching on this site and google and I've yet to find someone that details out how they installed their heater core. I found one post that discusses what a pain in the but it was, but that's it. I have access to AllDataPro and it instructs to remove the entire steering column. I'm curious if anyone has figured out a way to do this with out taking the steering column out.

Couple notes:
No need to remove the steering column. Just remove the brake light switch and you can jiggle the core out. Putting it in is easier because the fins are angled to let it slide in.
Make sure you have plenty of patience when putting the clips back in once the core is installed. I found it somewhat more bearable to use a small wrench to put pressure on the aluminum pipe and bracing it up against the steering column while putting in the clips.(you will see what I am talking about when you get there) Everything up until that point is actually pretty easy.
Cheers,
Jaron

Nope, didn't wash mine and no plastic burning smell. Now I think the thermostat needs to be replaced. Add that to the list...ha.

I ended up using a long flat head. There's a small piece of plastic you can wedge it against. I just posted a bunch of pictures on the install on my new FB page. Check out one of the last images, shows the black tab I'm talking about.
