I am dealing with a evap system leak that triggers my check engine light. My excellent Volvo dealership tells me there are pin hole leaks in the gas tank fill pipe about 8 inches from the cap where a steel strap was placed against the aluminum pipe. They drop the differential and then the tank and replace the fill pipe to the tune of about $1,000, but hint that, while they would never attempt to repair a fuel system component with epoxy or the like, a less reputable character (like me) might be able to do this. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get access without dropping the tank?
