2004 v70 cabin air filter
I have two 2004 V70s. One of the cars has a 1.5" cabin air filter on the firewall side of the interior airbox. The other V70 has a 1" cabin air filter furthest from the firewall with a small plastic tab covering the 1.5" insert. Why the heck the difference? Rather than order a 1 and 1.5 filter, why not just pop out the piece of plastic and get a 1.5" filter. Or better still, change them both to 1" and save a couple of bucks.
Thoughts?
1.5" airbox filter closest to firewall:

1.0" airbox filter furthest from firewall.

Also, which of the engine side airbox connections should be connected to the airbox? There is one running straight down under the airbox to points unknown and the other line appears to connect to the engine.
Airbox connections.

Ok, It sounds like I will buy a 1" and 1.5" for the respective climate units. Thanks for the clarification.
