Airbag Warning after Seat Removal

Airbag Warning after Seat Removal
2005 V70 non-turbo. I needed to clean up a spill under the passenger seat, it is not a powered seat so i decided to just remove the seat. when the seat was out i started and moved the car into my garage a warning on the dash said that "SRS Airbag Service Urgent" and "Passenger Airbag Off Service Urgent" needed to be serviced. I assumed this was because it was getting no signal from the Occupant Weight Sensor and i ignored it. I have now put the seat back and reconnected the wiring harness and i still get the same message. does anyone know if something has to be reset threw VIDA or by another method?
I was very careful while removing and re-installing the seat. I am sure that no damage happened to the seat when it was outside of the car

I want to leave my rear seat out...
I removed my rear Seat bottom AND Seat Back along with the corresponding Seat Belts.
How do I get rid of the warning light and messages in my instrument panel? I did do some searching before posting. What is a VIDA tool? Does anyone near Sacramento-Jackson area have one that can provide a clear and reset??

doesn't need to be a VIDA tool (that's the Volvo proprietary OBD diagnostic tool and matching computer software repair manual). Your warning light is really an OBD2 diagostic code - but since its a "chassis" code not all OBD2 code readers will display and clear but the better models will. I'd be willing to bet a friendly indy mechanic would view/clear the code for free (mine does - I've even had the dealer do it for me in the past).

THANK YOU very much! Hope to get to the shop in the next day or two.... Will let you know how it all goes. In all my years, I've built and revised many Experimental Full size airplanes along with Giant Scale model airplanes BUT I have never "Revised" a Car... I'm excited about this revision to my Volvo as it will provide a TON more utility and at the same time, it will still be a nice/sporty car to drive! Thanks again, Fred Weaver, Sutter Creek, CA

Those codes stick forever until cleared. I have had one on my s60 for 3-4 years from when I removed the DIM Cluster to have it repaired. At 150k I was like screw it, now 80k later I have the same reservations. Taking out the Radio and various other things can trigger that ABS Airbag Service Message.
I have just become immune to them now that I understand what triggers them. The only maintenance I haven't done myself in the past 6 years was the timing belt. When I had that done at 195k the Volvo Specialist shop in Santa Rosa, CA gave me a reading of codes a mile long. Guy has been there 30 years and he couldn't even tell me what it all meant. Go through the forums and all the codes and people still can't isolate the issue. They are worthless in my humble opinion. I learned more and cleared up more issues following the Robert DIY on Youtube than any of them every said.
Been meaning to buy a OBDII scanner for a while now to see if I could clear them up. But I treat my Volvo with old school basics. Make sure you got Oil, Fluid and make sure she don't ever over heat. That with you standard maintenance and these cars can go a very long way especially in most parts of California with the favorable weather.

IS this for real?

Getting Rid of the Warning Message.
Do you mean I have to hook them back up just to clear the messages? What do I have to do to eliminate the rear seat AND leave it out? In the final analysis, I really just want to keep my two front seats and have a nice platform in back to transport model airplanes...

Any time the key is on and the seat belts are disconnected, it will set a code.
You would need to connect a resistor equal to the resistance of each component in place of the conponent. Volvo makes a special tool of the correct resistance we use for verifying a component is bad. I don't know the resistance value off hand though.
