Default Bi-Xenon light questions

I have a 2006 V70 with bi-xenon lights. Currently having issues with the driver side light blinking on-off-on-off then off with low beam warning. I figure this is the ballast. Any other things to look for? Any suggestions for sourcing a replacement ballast other than the dealer?

Second - there is a set of lights to the inside with H10 bulbs in and I can't figure out why they are there as I can't get them to come on with the light switch. Current owners manual does not discuss bi-xenon lights and I replaced a burned out one thinking they worked at one point. Any pointers? fuses, relays and such. This one has me stumped.

BTW, I bought this used from a Volvo dealer thinking that it was good to go. 5 speed stick non-turbo, runs great for 238K miles.

check the connectors as well for cracks, corrosion etc. For ballasts you can try volvo friendly web stores like IPD, FCP Euro etc but odd parts usually require Volvo dealers. Best prices for a dealer web store that I've found is Tasca Parts.

BTW for the lights etc, you can also use the dealer web stores for their diagrams to see part numbers and how things fit.

Thanks for the reply. I just received a new ballast via amazon. The ballast is used by Volvo, Audi, BMW, Cadillac and Chrysler, so was easier to get than expected. Changing it later today.

So, the issue was a cracked light bulb - D2R. These are expensive, so look on ebay for a source.

For the other set of lights, they are day time running lights and according to a Volvo manual on line, they can be enabled/disabled with a Volvo diagnostic computer. I guess mine are disabled. Anyway, passes NYS inspection and good to go for a while.
