Default Book time for Maintenance

Anyone help please I have a display showing ' Book Time for maintenance' on my Dash. The V70 is the new shape with Key Fob not key. Also Airbag light has now come on too.

Thanks in anticipation

The service interval reset should be easy to do - just do a search on same. The air bag light will definitely need a scanner to diagnose. There is really no "reset" unless it was tripped by a low battery which was the case on the older models.

Hi Tony thanks for your reply. Apparently the 'Book time for Maintenance' is an advisory and cannot be cleared until it changes to Service Required' My mechanic tells me the airbag light coming on is to do with a electrical box under the drivers seat. This has also affected my Driver Heated Seat and my Driver door heated Mirror? Sounds expensive but I will get to the bottom of it (or my mechanic will) I'll keep you posted. If anyone knows any other reason for this happening please post.

The Book Time for Maintenance is a reminder to schedule your next maintenance. It can be cleared at any time.

Did your mechanic check codes and diagnose them? Or is that a guess for the SRS problem?

The Book for routine maintenance indicator does not go away even though I've tried three different suggested routines press T1 etc. The fault with the seat heater and the mirror he seems to think that the 'box under my seat' is the problem. After he had disconnected it to have a look at the contacts when he reconnected it then the airbag symbol was on? No idea where to go with it now, short of ignoring the airbag sign and forgetting the rest I can live wthout heated seats and wipe the mirror if needs be. If I could definitely be told what is wrong with it I don't mind throwing the money at it to get it fixed. Is nothing ever simple!

I can be reset. You're probably doing it wrong.

Without knowing the codes that are stored, anything is a guess for the SRS.

Can you tell me how to reset then please. The codes I am getting are 161 and I have seen a 20 at some stage during trying to reset the alert.

That's not a code. That's the numeric equivalent to one of the other warning messages. This happens when you try to reset it and don't do it right someimes. I'm sure there's videos out there on how to do it.

If your telling me I'm not doing it right yet cannot tell me how to do it, where's this post going. I've had three ways of resetting given to me on Volvo Owners Forum and they didn't work. Then I'm told it's not a warning that can be cleared because it's an advisory not a warning, and I have to wait for it to change to 'Service Required' to clear it. Confused or what!

Apparently the code 161 is to say that it has not been sucessful in resetting warning. Eight times I have tried in T1 T2 foot off brake - foot on brake. Foot it I'll leave it!!!

It can be reset. You can reset it even when there is no message. If you tried it with your foot on the brake, you obviously got some wrong information. Took me literally 5 seconds to find:

Thanks for the reply again. I have found and played that clip last night over and over again even writing it down and taking it to the car. Riunning it round to get mileage on T1 and still it won't reset. I had found other clips on you tube that showed using T2 and foot on the brake even tried that still remains there. You're probably wondering what I am doing wrong, so am I. I can assure you I have done it to the letter and it won't clear. What would it cost me to take it in to a garge to get it cleared and the airbag symbol reset any idea? Please be assured I appreciate your help it's just so frustrating that it's making me look stupid!
