Default help please? "Slow down or shift to a higher gear"

Started with a flashing CEL light, then got a message saying "Slow down or shift to a higher gear" I checked the coolant level and oil and they are ok.

What could be causing this message and could we damage the car if we still driving it?

Your comments will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Could this means that my transmission is going south..?

Yesterday afternoon, first the rear door locks failed to unlock, then at the gas station the fuel door failed to open and soon afterwards the CEL started flashing with the message "slow down or shift to a higher gear" I replaced the fuse for the door locking mechanism and fuel gate (same fuse) fut it blew the fuse immediately.

Since everything failed within one hour, could all these be related to an electrical gremlin..?

Help..! Please...?
