Question motor icon

Hi guys.
i have problem with my volvo 2.5 FT 2009.Motor icon shows and code is P217821. The code refers to rich after idle. I noticed some other people that have created a similar thread.
But i wanted to add something more...
My car need a lot of engine oil, there is no visual leaks (i have read that the model sometimes need a lot of oil aswell).

But my question is if the oil somehow can be entering the valve and creating the wrong mixture of fuel and air (and oil)?
Or is it simply a change of MAF sensor (oxygen sensor) that i probably need?

The second part of my question is if i can change the oil viscosity to minimize the oil usage without compromising the whole engine?

I hope someone have some wisdom to share

Well your code could be related to the amount of oil you are burning. It isn't normal for a 2.5T to burn any oil. To check, take a look at your exhaust tailpipe on startup and then at various rpm. Is there blueish smoke coming from the tailpipe?
You don't want to change viscosity of oil to deal with a valve leak as then you will be wearing out other parts of the engine to band-aid your problem and it probably wouldn't do anything anyway.
