Hi all,
Im a professional auto tech, Semi-familiar with volvo stuff, but mostly a BMW guy. Worked at BMW dealers for 10 years, now at an indie shop, and Just had a 2001 V70 T5 come in with a seized water pump, which threw the belt off.
we put a belt on it and it runs, but very badly. I assume we have a few bent valves in there. The lady doesnt wanna spend anymore money so shes selling me the car.
Its got 185K miles on it but the body and interior are very nice. also it comes with a second set of rims and tires, some nice continentals on 16" directional rims.

Anyway, Ive been looking online for a used cylinder head, since Ebay has them around 200-300 shipped, i figure rather than messing around and finding valves and what not, for that price, Id be happy throwing a whole head on it.

there seems to be differences in years though, and even differences in motors used in 2001. When i ordered the timing belt i had to get engine #'s but they were long gone off the timing cover, and i cant read anything off the pad at the back of the head.
I ordered both versions of timing belt kit and the only difference i could see was the length of the water pump bolts.

SOOOO , what should I be looking for ? Again I am not well versed on what years are interchangable etc.. One guy on ebay is selling a head and claims it will fit T5 1999, 2003, 2004, etc,, but not 200-2001-2002. Why is that? also claims the head will fit different displacement motors, non turbo and turbo

did volvo use the same head on alot of cars, or what?
