Hello all, I know this is an old topic around here, but the transmission finally went out on my 2001 XC70. Had the rough shift problem for quite some time and all the suggestions in the forums didn't solve it Anyway... my question follows:

Question:
I have already removed the Bevel Gear (Angle Gear to some) and turned this car into a 2WD vehicle because I didn't want to sink the money into replacing it when it went out. Due to that, does anyone have any knowledge as to if I could put a v70 FWD transmission into the xc70? I will be doing the work myself, and the price of a re-manufactured v70 FWD trans is MUCH less than an AWD trans for the xc70. I have been looking all over the various forums and Google searches to try and find if anyone has done this, or has any answers to this question to no avail... thoughts?
