Default Summer tire size

Hello, I'm new at this. I need to buy new summer tires for a 2004 V70 2.5T wagon. The car sticker says 235/45R17 but the 1st option I get when I search online (based on car info) is the 205/55R16. This car has a poor turning circle and I want to make sure that I buy tires that won't make this issue worse. Any suggestions?

What size are your current summer tires? If the 235/45R17 then you will need to go with that size. If the 16 inch then..........

+1 on simply looking at the sidewalls of your tires. I assume you have the AWD version of the 2.5T? And keeping to the OEM size will not change your cars turning radius and will not rub on fenders...

Why are you new to this? New to you car?

SERIOUSLY if the car is new to you and you live in the real world you should consider getting replacement wheels in a 15" size. The sidewalls will be MUCH taller and the ride will be better.

Those 17" and 18" wheels are truly stupid if the roads where you live aren't perfect. Also, 17" and 18" tires are more expensive.

15 inch wheels may not fit over the brake rotors. base models have 16 inch wheels, sportier models have 17s. Neither size will change the turning radius of the car. So did you look at the tires to see what size you have?
