Hi. I'm new to this forum and searched the forum first to see if there was a related question/answer but did not find one. I have a 2003 Volvo V70 and found that after opening my tailgate, it will not latch, no matter how many times I tried to shut and secure it. When discussing this with my wife, she told me this happened to her as well. She ended up driving the the car in that state and noticed when she arrived at her destination, "it was latched closed!!" So I shut the tailgate, drove around the block and when I returned it was latched closed for me as well. (Or maybe it latched when I put the car in drive and I really didn't have to drive anywhere?) I'm assuming this is not a normal operation of the tailgate as I should not have to drive the vehicle for it to latch. I'm too afraid to unlock and lift the tailgate at the moment in case it doesn't latch again. Anyone here have any information on what might be going on?
