Default VVT wiring crimp connector or soldering

hello all I have a 2001 volvo v70 2.4 non-turbo
I need to replace the vvt solenoid and wandered if I should use the crimp connectors or to solder and shrink tube . Also wandered if anyone knows if the wiring from the old solenoid to the new is [1to1/ 2to2] ? there wasn't any instructions with the kit
note I wasn't too happy with the wires that came with the kit doesn't seem heavy enough.
any advice and suggestions would be appreciated thank you
