I need to replace windshield on 2003 V70. This has a rain sensor and I am told by mechanic that rain sensor may not work on replacement because "some do and some don't". OEM windshield is not available. Can anyone shed any light on this? My existing rain sensor works fine.

Thank you for your reply. I don't quite understand where the sensor is. Is it on the passenger side of the glass and fixed externally to the glass? Is there a way to remove it without damage? thank you again.

 

It's right by the rear view mirror under a plastic cover. I've only had to replace one for failure and I don't think there's a good way to remove it without damage. But a glass company would know better. We don't replace windshields at the dealer, we sublet it.
