Default Year & Model

Hi, could anyone confirm the model/series of my V70, as it dosen't seem to comply with what Ive read so far, I have been told it is a series2 but build date appears to fit the series1 (note it is an Austrailian vehicle.)
Build date is May 2000. (this would make it a series1) ???
Australian compliance plate is: 10/2000 (October) & states that it is a series2
I am looking to replace the steering rack because of excessive whining noise & not sure if series1 & series2 are the same rack, can anyone confirm this?

Where did you get your information about the change from series 1 to series 2 at the factory? In any case the styling is different. I would just look at the car and be satisfied with whether it looks like a series 1 or series 2. Just google pictures of 1998 V70's and compare with google pictures of a 2001 V70.

In the US we would go by the VIN number, because none of us has any information about what was going on at the factory.

Default All good

Yes you are correct, the photo's make it obvious, mine is a series 2 (known as a P2). Thanks for the input.
