Default 2004 XC70 battery cover?

Is the battery cover in a 2004 Volvo XC70 necessary?
I am in the process of purchasing one and the battery cover is missing. The metal bracket is there but no cover.

Is it safe without the cover? Want to make sure that nothing touches the terminals and shots it.

Where can I get a replacement? Ive searched and not able to find any info about them

Thanks

Some didn't even have one. If the bracket that goes over the battery has one bolt and one but, there was no cover. If it had two nuts and one bolt, it had a cover. Its safe, as long as nothing touches the positive and ground.

There is a bracket is kind of "Y" shaped with two holes that fit over two bolts towards the front. Is this supposed to hold the cover down?

I can't look at it just now. Just purchased the vehicle and the dealer is fixing a couple of issues.

Yeah, should have a cover then. It isn't a big deal though
