Default 2005 XC70 Jolts and has codes...

Okay, usually I'm working on my 240. But I also take care of my parents 2005 XC 70, but I'm a bit out of my element on a machine so new. If any of you have any helpful hints, I would appreciate it.

I don't drive it all the time, but this is what I can tell--now and again, it will kind of jolt--loose power for a split second, then come back. This is while I am in motion. It has on at least one occasion revved up, and fallen back to normal.

I hook up my OBD II to it, and get the following codes:

P0017: Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation
P0193: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High
P0190: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit

I'm not really sure where to go with this... any help would be appreciated.

Okay--current running theory is that the P0190 indicates that the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor is bad. And occationally, that causes, the P0193 code, that indicates that fuel rail pressure is high. At the moment, I'm assuming that the P0017 code is unrealated. So... I am going to see if I can get a new fuel rail pressure sensor, and see what happens there.

hoo ha! I am trying this. Got a new Fuel rail pressure sensor. Here are the instructions I am using to change out the sensor. We shall see what happens!

Well, The jury is still out on if this worked or not. I just reset the codes, and I still ge that p0017 code. Hopefully the p0190 and p0193 code stay away. But I found another possibly useful link:

Swedespeed Forums - VOLVO P2 Diagnostic Fault Codes (Multi-Part Post)&

I will report back my findings.

It appears the switching out of the sensor solved the roughness of the engine problem. It still is throwing some codes (I will be checking into that again this evening) but it is progress.
