2006 ABS Module and Pump Question
I need the ABS module rebuilt and wanted to send in the pump as well JIC it needed it as well.
Question: Is the car operational w/o the module AND the pump? I know it is w/o the module alone but was curious what happens when the pump is removed.
FYI considering sending the unit to these guys, a lot cheaper than xemo.

Thanks so much,

two other sites to check out - midwest abs and Rocha tek. Both have some value add content on their sites. From what I recall, Rocha does say which models can run without the controller in the car as part of his mail in repair process.
so there's three things that can fail - the ABS controller (ie the part with the circuit board that can develop cracks), the valve body (that meter the pressure to the wheels) and then the pump. You can remove the controller without opening the system but as noted the other two are attached to the fluid lines. Not sure if the pump and valves are a single unit on your model. What was the original symptom that led you to suspect the pump/valves vs the controller?
That's helpful to know, thank you.
No original symptom to suggest the pump and my mechanic says he has only seen the pump go bad a few times in 15-20 years. We actually just bought the car, knowing the ABS light was on. I was just going to send the pump and module to modulemasters because they offered to inspect and repair the pump if needed at no additional cost. But I don't want to go through the trouble of taking off the pump, bleeding the brakes, and having to wait a week with the car not operational. I can send them the module and if that doesn't solve the problem, I'll have to take the pump off then.
Thanks again for the info.
