2007 XC 70 Gear Shift stuck in park
2007 XC 70 Gear Shift stuck in park.
It happened once before and I took off the 2 side panels and sprayed it with an electric cleaner and it worked
No luck this time - I can't figure out how to get the plastic faux wood cover to lift off but a few inches - to get better access

With a plastic trim tool, the wood cover will come up with a little effort. From there, you can manually move the lever to get it out of park. BTW, can you feel the solenoid move when you hit the brake?
Another problem might be the adjustment for the cable when you turn the key. I just fixed one of those.
