2008 XC70 computer issues??
Love my car but having a couple issues, dies when starting hot and have to rev up to 3000 for 30 sec to get it to run right. could it be my throttle sensor?

when you say throttle sensor did you mean the ETM (electronic throttle mechanism )? That would be the part you'd want to be rebuilt as there are contacts that can wear and fail causing rough idles etc. Also use your original parts as some of the electronic components in these cars are "paired" to the ECU and replacing the boards with a new part requires programming. When you send the ETM to a shop like Xemodex, they fix the hardware ie boards/contacts etc but don't change the programming so it will reinstall with no issues. Check out the websites for Xemodex and Midwest ABS as two possible repair shops.
Sorry, it sounds like your previous service provider was just guessing, and hopefully your next choice will be more qualified.
If there's no independent Volvo specialist is there a Volvo dealer close by? They might be expensive but usually will not sell you parts that don't fix the car.
