2008 XC70 Will Not Start
Hello,
My 2008 XC70 was running perfectly on Friday (no warning lights or any other signs that anything is wrong). I did not use the car at all on the weekend. On Monday when I went to turn on the car it would not start.
-The car does not crank
- When I press the "Start" button I can hear one click followed by the dash shutting off for a couple seconds then lighting back up
- The dash is also showing a bunch of warnings such as, DSTC temporarily off, AWD disabled Service required, Parking Brake Failure Service required, Parking brake not applied, Shift into P to start and occasionally something about the immobilizer.
I just cannot figure out what could have happened in the two days of it simply sitting in my driveway to cause the car to completely stop working.
If anyone has any ideas as to what it can be or what to try I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance and Happy Holidays to everyone.

I ended up buying a new battery and negative terminal battery cable from Volvo and changing them myself. This fixed the problem for me and the car started right up. It's been working perfectly since.
I think what happened was the combination of a drained battery and a damaged battery cable caused the car's electronic systems to malfunction.
Hope this helps and best of luck getting your vehicle back up and running.
