2011 XC70 rear view mirror removal

I have a 2011 XC70 3.2 AWD with a discolored rear view mirror. Can't figure out how to remove it from the windshield. Any help greatly appreciated.

You can whack it hard and it will pop off - or remove the plastic around it and turn it counterclockwise to release it
