I have a new-to-me 2012 XC70 with a broken seat latch handle, passenger rear seat. Plastic release handle in my hand, broken off at the seat back. Question - how does one disassemble the top frames of the seat backs, to replace the broken parts ? Are there any "How To's" out there ? Thnx, BC

 

Never had one apart. My suggestion is to have the dealer send you the parts diagram for the seat. You'll have to look over the diagram but don't be surprised if the job requires removing the upholstery.

 

With help from friends, found this link on UTube for replacing seat latch assemblies - not expensive, and they're the same latches in my XC70 as in this video for XC60s. Have ordered latch assys from a RI online volvo parts dealer. Will post how the replacements go when time to do the fix. BC
