Another Tire Question
Apologies in advance since this is another tire replacement question, but I cannot get a straight answer.
I have a 2008 XC70 (80k). My wife had the tires replaced at Sears (yes, I know, not my first or last choice, but I didn't choose), and they recommended (at the time) replacing all 4, even though only one was bad and they were relatively new. We recently picked up a nail and it can't be patched (too close to the side wall). Now sears says only one needs to be replaced (road hazard insurance), Volvo North America says two. An independent shop that I trust says 4 and a top volvo dealer says one. Current wear on the tires is that they are down to 7/32d's.
Is there a general consensus as to how many to replace? 1, 2 or 4?
Thanks on advance.
Johnny.

The AWD systems are not as sensitive to tire size as they used to be when they had a viscous coupling as opposed to the AOC setup yours has. With 7/32" remaining, replacing one would be fine. But if VCNA says 2, I'd go with that. 4 are certainly not needed.
