Looking to go AWD with my next Volvo. I notice many 2001 and 2002 models have had their transmissions replaced/rebuilt. Is this the same issue as the well known XC90 transmission problems? Which XC70 AWD years are best? I keep my cars for a long time and would like to start with another great year like my 1993 940.

1993 940 (317,000) Still going strong, but I've moved to the snow
1984 245 (365,000) Killed by a bakery truck

 

go 03' or newer...although we had an 02' up until 120k miles w/out issue, and i still miss it.
