Electrical System Issues (Horn, Lights)
Hey All.
I bought a 2005 XC70 a few months ago, and have enjoyed the car, but today it decided to go a bit haywire.
A bit of backstory this week, I live in Hamburg, NY which is just south of Buffalo and if you're in the US you probably know we got 6.5 feet of snow. The car has been buried for a few days. Yesterday we unburied it, and it seemed fine.
Today I took it out, and got the "Check Stop Lamp" Notification while driving. I got to a store, got out and both taillights and the 3rd Brake Light were stuck on. Ran in quick, came back out and when hitting the unlock button on the keyfob all lights turned off like they'd normally be.
Got in the car, got home and all lights were off like normal when I parked it in my driveway. Then 2 hours later, the horn just stuck on out of nowhere with the keys out, and no one near the car.
When I started the car the horn stopped. Then after a few minutes of it running, the horn turned on again, with the car on this time. SO I turned it off quickly, popped the hood and disconnected the positive battery terminal just to quickly get it to turn off.
Anyone have anything similar? Did water short out the computer system? Really don't want to keep turning the thing on to **** off all my neighbors until I have a plan of attack.
