Default HID Kits and LED bulb for Hi and Lo Beam/DRL lamps Question

Has anyone done an HID/LED conversion on their XC or any Volvo? I want to do it on my new to me 04 XC70. I have converted my 07 Honda Accords to HIDs a while back and they work fine except for the DRL feature. An HID does not work on DRLs bc it flickers due to the lower current draw. I just removed the DRL fuse disabling the DRL. I just turn on my headlamps on Lo beam if I want lights during the day.

So I am guessing that the XC70 DRL will also flicker with HID assuming it draws less current with DRL. Although, it seems the light intensity of the lo beam is identical to the DRL light intensity which makes me think its the same current applied on both modes. With the availability of LEDs, I was going to try them and see if the DRL will work. Anyone tried or have any thoughts on this??

I just thought of something. I'll check the voltage and current with my multitester of both Lo beam and DRL. Whether they are the same or different, that should answer the question.
