Hello fellow Volvo peeps! So, my dad may be getting a job where he needs a company car. The car allowance will cover a 2009 XC70. I was wondering how reliable they were. I've checked other places. I just want to see what you guys say about it. If possible, can the responses be from '09 owners or people who are very familiar with '09's, like a Volvo tech for example? Thank you. We have an '04 currently and love it! It's been a great car! My main questions follow:
1. Is there a history of transmission problems like earlier model years?
2. Is interior quality good (dash and accessories)?
3. How is its overall quality?
4. What are some common problems with it and, on average, how expensive are those to fix?

Since the company give your father allowance to buy the car, so it's still a company's car, do they allowed a budget yearly maintenance? If they do so there will be lessen the worry, buying used car always issues coming up, so search careful of car history, service record, when he get the car do the maintenance as: Flush the coolant, replace thermostat, check and replace trans fluid, replace angle gear oil, have PVC system service, check and replace the timing belt and water pump, air filter, change engine oil and filter.
