Default SRS Airbag Alert

I swapped out the small storage box with the OEM cup holder box today. This of course necessitated removal of radio and environmental heads. So, positioning the shift lever to drive makes this easier. With that said, the SRS alert came on at some point during this process, and now remains on. What is the best way to clear this message?

Thanks,
Ultra

When you disconnect the climate control unit it interrupts the CAN BUS signal for the vehicle's interface between modules. The SRS Urgent appears in the window and can only be reset with an appropriate scan tool. An OBD II scan tool will typically not have the software to access the code.

You might be able to talk the dealer into doing the reset for free.

Thanks Tony, very interesting. And I was thinking the 2014D OBD2 unit and computer would do a reset. Thanks for the heads-up.

This scanner will do it. Fixed mine when I had the same issue after replacing my radio.
