Wanted: advice on buying XC 70 parts car

I am a relative novice to extracting the most value out of these wonderful cars. It occurred to me that I would like to buy a parts car, especially one with a good motor if I decide to take this car to a 500k miles which I am leaning towards.

from what I surmise my particular model was made from 2003 to 2007. It does not have the additional self leveling suspension and appears to be rather the stock XC 70.
If I was to look for a parts car is there any advice as to years other than the 2007 original model that I have that would be satisfactory?

I live in the Northeast and I am amazed at how well the body on this car has held up as regards to rust.Any suggestions from fellow enthusiasts would be most welcome. I appreciate any and all advice as I am relatively new to this pursuit.

I don't know where are you located? Where are you looking for part car? Craigslist? eBay? The cars sell for parts on line usually don't have good engines (the owners can't fix them and cost more than the car's worth to have the garage do it for them) Find the local public auto auction near you, that way you can inspect the car in person and save the shipping, some time you might find one cheaper and better the one you own. Check the inventory of "you-pull-it" junk yard near you, some of them let you buy the whole car, if not you can pull what you need, ones are total in junk yard usually have good engine if it not sit in the yard too long (I bought a Jaguar X-Type engine for $200, $35 for a fender)
