Hi guys,

Just bought my first car - 1999 S80 T6 and this is my first post, please bear with my lack of knowledge in cars.

Thought I was never even able to change a flat tire, I want to replace my S80's front right door panel with my landlord's help (he's an amateur mechanic). I found a door panel on eBay for $45+$35 (part+shipping). The eBay seller states that it fits S80 models from 1999-2004.

I want to know:

A. If the dimentions of the panel are same for all S80s from 1999-2004. Will this panel fit my 1999 S80 T6?

B. Any precautions to be taken while replacing the door panel - like electrical wiring, switches etc.

C. Any standard procedures posted anywhere online to make the job easier.

1. Yes they are the same.
2.Does it come with the door switch?
3.Removing the panel is easy.In by the grab handle to close it a cover with 2 screws under it. remove those screws.
Then around the bottom of the panel is a bunch of clips.Push the center of the clip in till you feel a click. Then slide the whole clip out.
Then the door panel should slide up and off.

Yes, it comes with door switch, clips, fasteners and the tweeter speaker.

Ok one more very important thing when you remove the Door panel make sure you install your switch into the new door panel.
They are actually comoputers. It is called a passenger side door module(window switch).
It will mess with the other computers in the car if you leave the switch that came with the door panel in it.

I replaced the front right door panel guys, but the new door module (came from a 2001 S80) did not work - I don't know if the eBay seller sold me the door with a faulty modue or 2001 module does not work with 1999 S80. Anyways, I just used my module and fixed the doorpanel.

 

Like I stated above it wouldn't work on your car because it is a computer and it would have needed to be programmed to your car.
