I found a nice 89 240 sedan (244) that a person is selling. I went to look today and there was one key. It fit the ignition but would not turn it on. The car has been sitting for about 10 yrs and the person told me that the keys were lost during a night of drunken silliness......
here's the question....
How can I get the trans to go from park to neutral without the key? I want to be able to haul this car on a trailer but NOT if it is stuck in park because it will not engage to neutral....
Anyone had this issue???

 

Use the manual shift lock release - or disconnect part of the shift linkage under the car. If the key won't turn - it's the wrong key. You can order a key using the VIN from a dealer. It will come precut and work!
