Not sure how this happened, but my drivers seat will not move back up. It goes back and forth but the back stays down. So frustrated. I've tried pushing it while the motor is running, it will not budge.

The seat motors use cables from the motors to the gears to move in this case the seat back. On older cars (not sure what year yours is) the inner cables come unplugged. The cables are similar to an old style speedometer cable with a square end on each end of the inner cable. The almost free solution is to shorten the outer cable 1/2 inch (it's black plastic) and crimp the metal end back on the shorter outer cable effectively making the inner cable longer. (or replace the cable)

Of course you have to get the fabric off the seat back to get to the seat back motor - which is difficult if the back is leaned back all the way
