Hello, I recently bought a 1980 242 DL from an old woman who was very short. The drivers seat is very far forward, and when i try and slide it back it only goes a little way and is still super far forward. I took the seat off and looked at the rails it slides on. It looks like the seat is getting stuck on something on the rail as it slides back, preventing it from going any further back. Has anyone encountered this before? am i missing something very simple? or is it possible that becuase the woman was so short the dealer back in 1980 modified the seat so that it is extra far forward? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

are you pulling up on the bar and pushing back? Sometimes you have to pull a little harder on the bar for it to actually release.

Sometimes you just have to pull a little harder than you think, not excessive, just enough.

 

Yeah I definetly am pulling hard enough. Truth be told we even tried tapping the end with a hammer to get it to move but it wasnt budging.

 

Soak it good with a Rust penetrate.

 

and then....use a little kung fu grip
