Need some help here. My friend has a Volvo 245GL, 86 model and it won't start. He says the trouble is in the little box he's found under the dash. He says it is fuel related though the box itself is all electrical.

It has a 6 contact plug on it. It handles 6 wires apparently.

If we knew what it is called we could search the web for the part.

Perhaps if we knew a little more it might even be repairable.

Can anyone help with information or even directions to a manual for the 245GL where we might be able to identify the part?

We're in Australia. My friend is marooned in Alice Springs where no one seems to know anything about these Volvos at all and there's no wrecks to search.
