Default CR-814

I'm getting ready to replace the Casette Player in my 89 780 with a CR-814 from a 91. I want to keep the factory amps and EQ but add a CD. I got an M-bus Alpine changer and adapter.

My ??? is, can I just "plug and play" the head into the old harness and then plug the amps and EQ into it? The old one only had 5 pins used in the 9 pin DIN connector.

A wiring diagram would be nice.

Suggestions or experiences?

Jack

Does the 814 radio have the din on the back and a C/D button on the face of the radio? If it does and all the other connections are the same it will just be plug and play.

The new radio has places for the CD changer, amps and EQ to plug in, but what I'm wondering is about the 9 pin DIN wired to the flat connector on the radio. The old one had 5 wires connected and the 814 has all 9 wired. The car harness has the mating DIN with 5 wires, but it goes into a short "jumper" harness that has a 9 pin DIN on the other end with 8 or 9 wires.

I need to find a wiring diagram to understand it I guess.

thanks!

The "pin-out" for the radio I can figgure out. It's the car side that's tough.
