I'd just like to take a moment to vent my frustration with Sony products....in particular the Xplod line. Bottom line....worthless.

On that note, I traded a weight gym for a 480 watt sony xplod 2ch amp (before I knew it was an xplod). Truth be told, I still maintain I came out ahead in this situation seeing as how I wasn't using the gym (too small...I'm 6'5"). It gave me a chance to wire up a system that I've been wanting to try for a couple of years now. It involves 2 10" MTX woofers in stereo on one amp and 1 10" MTX woofer crossed over for mono bass. The concept produces a wonderful sound in my head and in practice, with the xplod amp, it works without blowing anything up (which is always a plus). As soon as I get that guy with my gym to buy me a decent amp I'll hook it up proper.

 

Good luck getting him to buy you another amp.

I would just suck it up and buy a good amp.

JL Audio makes great amps. I have had two since I have started driving at age 17 and I am now 23. 300/2 and an e4300, both worked perfectly. I don't have them anywhere, since I got the s70 and sold all my audio equipment, but man did they work great.

 

You know what the stupid thing about it is? The guy is a Senior Inventory Annalist for Best Buy at the their corrporate office in Richfield here in Minnesota. You would think a representative as high up the food chain in product annalysis would know that 1) don't buy the cheapest verssion of anything and 2) that no one likes Xplod.

He and I have an understanding. He owes me a decent amp and we'll get it taken care of by the end of the week here. I'm kind of excited about it.
