Default Eclipse avn5435 Install?

I've been given a used Eclipse avn5435 stereo/navigation unit. I have a 2002 Volvo S40. Anyone done a Eclipse install on this model? Any tips on installation, sourcing an adapter harness, etc. would be appreciated.

Let me know how it turns out. Also, if you used an adapter harness or installation kit, where did you source them?

Thanks!

Default S40 Test Fit

I test fitted the AVN5435 in the S40 today. The unit is a hair too wide. The OEM guide rails block it from sliding in. It also looks like there would be a 1/4 inch gap all the way around the unit head, requiring fabrication of a surround.

It appears the only kind of installation kit that would help is one that replaces the entire OEM radio housing. The kit would need to accomodate the Information ****, cup holder, and options switches located above the radio. I doubt such a thing exists.

The other option is to "modify" the existing enclosure. I think the guide rails could be shaved down enough to accept the radio without removing them completely. I am going to need them, since they help hold the radio in place.

I'll pick up a second OEM radio enclosure and try modifing it. I would like to preserve the OEM set-up so that the OEM radio can be re-installed.

I found this link for antenna and wire harness adapters, which I have ordered: http://www.myinstallkit.com/VOLVO/2002%20(02)%20VOLVO%20S40%20Radio%20-%20Stereo%20Installation%20Kit.htm

Adapters and 1-DIN installation kits are also available on eBay.
