I have a 2001 Volvo S40, and I just found out that some of the new Volvo's have a plug in the glove box where you can hook an iPod too and use it thru your stereo. Does anyone know if you can get this attachment for an older model Volvo?

I just bought an '06 S40, and from what I understand, that option is only available on the S60 and S80, not the S40. Not sure about the '01s.

I checkedthese guys and it's not available yet, so I'm gonna get on the mailing list. Also gonna check with the dealer.

 

I couldn't find one for my 04 S40 so I bought a Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD head unit with the iPod mod. Yeah a bit more pricey then just adding an iPod adaptor but it looks great in the dash and tied everything together including iPod and Sirius Sat radio.

 

IRECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW C-70 2008 AND THERE IS A PIN IN THE CENTER ARM REST THAT APPEARS TO BE FOR AN I-POD PLUG IN. THE OWNERS MANUAL IS NOT OVERLY WPECIFIC REGARDING WHAT, IF ANY, ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT MAY BE NECESSARY. I POSTED A QUESTION ABOUT IT ON THE C-70 PAGE AND AM AWAITING AN ANSWER.

Volvo sent out a mailer for several models in 2006 regarding ipod compatibility/hook-ups (01+) and for approx $100? you could get an add-on part to make everything work together.

I believe newer cars come with ipod integration by default as mentioned by slasher above.
