recommendations please
okay here is my situation.
i am looking to upgrade sound in my s70. i have been thinking about this for a while so many of you may be going "you haven't done this yet?!" but, i now have a greater budget. my mom has said that if i can get 3 speakers to work outside for a porch, she will pay for my car audio. I said it will be maybe 600 dollars for decent set up, and she said thats all? so im thinking i have at least 1500 to spend on audio. I like audiobahn subs, like the flame q compressor but i cant seem to find any. i also dont know anything about speakers and amps, so im asking for any and all recomendations please. The biggest help would be a speaker/amp/sub combo recomendation. I already have a 220 watt 4 channel HU by Dual if that helps. Thanks for the help!

RE: recommendations please
you are talkin to the right person!!! go for alpine!!! i cant say anything bad about them never have blown any speakers and there subs are great. or if you want a little bit better sound quality go for ither boston acustic or polk momo. for all your wireing go for all monster cable they work great. for the amp i would recomend a polk momo or alpine amp they are both very good. the sub size and quantity but personally i would get 3 10". the 12" hit hard but only the very deep bass the 10" hit the low the high and the medium.
any questions feel free to email me i will send some more info about all that stuff to you

RE: recommendations please
i disagree:
10 inch w7 with a bandpass box(on jlaudio.com)-cost is $730---very loud
then get a 500/1 monoblock jl amp-with power it exactly, this runs for about 500, and install will bring you to around 1400...
the w7 and 500/1 amp were made for each other, and this setup is VERY loud!!

Take a look at www.crutchfield.com It's the ultimate source for car audio. Don't go too crazy though, even with such a big budget. I think a 10" sub would be good enough. Alpine HUs are good but Kenwood also makes great ones.

RE: recommendations please
I have to agree on the Alpine setup, I have used alpine products almost exclusively for the last 5 years in 4 different cars, and they have always performed superbly. The newer alpine head units will let you control the aspects of an alpine amplifier from the HU itself, instead of removing cover plates in your trunk to adjust, so that's another plus. The R type subs are even better now than last year, too- A decent Alpine HU with MP3 capability, A type-R sub and box, and a sub amp would probably run about $1200 installed and maybe leave you some cash for speakers too. BUT DITCH THAT DUAL HU!
