i have a 1988 740 turbo wagon that needs an engine anyway so im wondering if there are any better turbo engines that make for an easy swap and bolt up to the same transmission and with minor wiring harness changes ? ? i want some good power

a 740 would still be a good engine. i know a couple people running almost 20 lbs of boost on their stock 740 block and theyre pulling low 13's. you could probably find a nice one with low miles for cheap. youd be supprised what a volvo can do. but if you just want mad power you could do like a 350 chevy swap for fairly cheap, but that kinda kills the volvo spirit haha.
