Ok good I wanted to be sure you weren't over boosting.

1. ecu is from old engine that used to have 13G turbo?
2. guage is not accurate, but its unlikely.

1. Could be but highly doubt it.
2. I doubt it is the gauge.
Hi, I have 1998 Volvo s70 GLT, but I have 2.3 Liter enginewith 15G TurboCharger, dont know from what year, but 99% sure from 850 t5, because 850T5 is the only one that had 2.3 with 15G

I do believe I answered this question above myself. Just from your forum name olegs70glt. Yes you are an LPT engine and you put an HPT turbo on your car.
By putting an HPT turbo on your car your not going to be running higher boost then what your engine is set for. You either have to buy a manual boost controller and control your boost this way and or get an ECU upgrade from the various vendors available for Volvo's.

Ok my next question is this. Are you running an HPT turbo on an LPT engine?

By the way, I found out what was wrong with the boost guage, the vacuum hose that came with the guage was too thin and it got crushed in the pillar, so I had to replace it with better thicker hose. Now it works amazing.

S70Driver, you said I can control boost with manual boost controller, electronic one like greddy won't do it?
thanks,
Oleg

Anyways. If your car is 1998 and before you can use a manual boost controller (MBC) or you can use a Electronic Boost Controller (EBC).
However 1999+ Volvo's use what is called ME7 and ME7 doesn't like it when you use a MBC. I don't know about an EBC but MBC's it hates. So don't use one if your 1999+. Now you can use an ECU upgrade on the 1999+ models to raise boost levels.

Your ME7 is what I think others call a TCV. You have to bypass it to us an MBC/EBC. It basicly is an EBC valve controlled by the ECU.

"The biggest difference between the ME-systems and the older M4.x systems is the new throttle module, a so called fly-by-wire system where there’s no wire between the throttle plate and the accelerator pedal. Throttle plate is controlled by an electrical motor via the ETM and signals from the accelerator pedal positions sensor. VVT-system is also new and for MY99-01 all turbo engines had exhaust VVT. 2.5T, 24HT and R-line engines have VVT on both inlet- and outlet cam shafts."
