Default Jim Has a Complaint

I hate to say this because I know you guys take pride in you signatures, but I can not stand things that flicker on my screen. I do not like the signatures that are flipping through mulitple pictures. I realize this is probably just my opinion, but I have trouble reading when the screen is flickering. I will not even load things that have a little flashing in the lower right corner of my screen. I was trying to read a thread where there was a signature changing on the top and the bottom and I was trying to read in the middle and I just gave up. Right now that flickering ad for Mags Cheap on the right is driving me crazy.

Iguess my nextquetion is: Is there a way to turn offsignatures? I have had to do this on a couple other message boards because of the pictures people where using was not something I want on my screen at work.

If your running FireFox install the Addon AdBlocker Plus.

Can I just block the signatures that keep changing pictures? I like signatures like yours, cause I see your car. Doesn't the screen changing constantly bother anybody else? I know it bothers my son Justin too, but he might have just got that from me.

Yes, it bothered me, and I blocked Tech's sig with Adblock plus.

It bothers me but I try to ignore it. It doesn't make me not read a post though.

How did you get AdBlocker Plus to block signatures?

I read the posts too, but that one time where somebody elses signature was doing it at the top of the screen and tech's was doing on the bottom of the screen was more than I could handle. I'm glad to hear it's not just me though. I was getting ready to delete this thread cause I thought I was the only one and was being too picky or whining too much.

Jim, I'm having the same problem, I'm distracted by the flickering images.

Rightclick on the image, and "Adblock image"

Hi Tech,

It's not just yours, some other people seem to have it too.

I personally like the image with both the white & the yellow side-by-side in front of the garage (except the waste management bins in between[8D]). If you could make that one stationary, that would be great but I assume others have different tastes.

But I still miss your Mustang, I wish I could see it even as a little image at a corner....

My 2 cents for what it's worth (probably less than 2 cents)... I like the changing images (Tech's, TheSteelKnight's and others) - gives the all-around look of the car, but that's just me. I'm able to ignore the flickering around the screen as I read. I would say it's because I have a large screen (24") at work, but a lot of times I check in from my laptop. Anyway, to each his own, sounds like axel and RedTurbo provide a good solution for blocking not only the signature flickers, but the ads too.

I guess im partial, i like busy sigs, and i like stationary, i dont have a problem. However i do not want to burden others. I can change it and make it stationary. I could make the transistions smoother but for all that work, i would rather just have one pic.

Just let me know. Im sorry to cause discomfort. the last thing i want to do is keep people from enjoying the forums.

so just let me know which is prefered i do, ill be fine with it.

Tech i can do the same with your sig. make multiple images with in one frame and be stationary. its up to you. just let me know. that goes for anyone. i can do sigs.

Yes, it's better becasue it does not give the flickering effect. I still like just the staionary picture better though.
