we just purchased our 05 xc90 t5 fwd 58k miles. My wife was driving and the Air conditioning stopped, then all other power went out, then the engine died. The engine cranks but will not start.
A good Samaritan non Volvo mechanic stopped to help. They towed it to his shop and he went through it. He determined it was not battery/alternator related and thinks it is a computer issue.
Anyone have any thoughts? Very discouraged with a car we were excited about.

 

took car to volvo dealer to fix electrical failure. mechanic found the 50amp #4 fise for the cem blown. updated computer and drove in city traffic for an hour. all seemed good. when i got in the car to drive all the instruments and power went out. turned the car off and would not restart. the fuse blew again.

The mechanic is baffled, he can not find a short anywhere. He said there is no corrosion on the CEM board. I still think thats the problem though. Has anyone seen anything like this. We've only owned the car a month and driven 1K miles,now at 58k.
