I just bought a 1983 242 turbo for my daughter. It ran great when I tested it, but it was warmed up by the husband of the owner, but has some issues with the transmission when putting into reverse when cold. It will not do anything for movement in reverse when cold. Drive and forward gears work fine when cold. When you drive the car for some time it warms up and then Reverse seems to works properly.

Q: Is a $159 transmission flush and filter/gasket change the fix. Ya think?

Want to find out how this type of issue is usually handled as it shifts very nicely in all other modes as this Turbo is really peppy and the kickdown and acceleration work great.
